Why Choose Alupe University College?

The school is one of the four schools approved by Alupe University Council to offer Graduate,
under graduate and diploma programmes. It provides an academically-Challenging learning
environment, where students develop critical thinking skills in all areas of Commerce, with an
emphasis on teamwork, communication, leadership, and ethical decision making. Our aim as a
school is to provide students with a relevant, current education as well as practical skills and
competencies to operate in challenging and rapidly changing corporate world.

SBEHRD Departments

The school has three major departments which support learning namely:
1. Finance and Accounting, Economics and Procurement
2. Hospitality, Marketing and Human Resource Development
3. Management Science, Development Studies and Communication

Currently the school offers one (1) graduate, Three (3) undergraduate, four (4) diploma programmes and three short courses (professional courses) examined by KASNEB. The programs are:

School of Business, Economics and Human Resource Development

The school is one of the four schools approved by Alupe University Council to offer Graduate, under graduate and diploma programmes. It provides an academically-Challenging learning environment, where students develop critical thinking skills in all areas of Commerce, with an emphasis on teamwork, communication, leadership, and ethical decision making. Our aim as a school is to provide students with a relevant, current education as well as practical skills and competencies to operate in challenging and rapidly changing corporate world.

Proposed Graduate Programmes

Master of Business Administration (Course work and thesis)

Requirements:

 A holder of a degree in business or commerce from a recognized University with first
class or second upper class honors OR
 A holder of a degree in business or commerce from a recognized University with second
class lower honors with two (2) years working experience OR
 A holder of a degree in any discipline from a recognized University with at least second
class lower honors with a Diploma in Business Studies validated by the University OR
 A holder of a degree in any discipline from a recognized University with at least second
class lower honors with three (3) years managerial experience.

Undergraduate Programmes

1) Bachelor of Business Management (BBM)

Requirements:

 KCSE Mean grade C+ and at least C in English and Maths or Commerce or Economics
or Business Studies or Accounting OR
 Ordinary Diploma in business related field from a recognized institution OR
 CPA/CPS or HND holders from recognized institutions.

2) Bachelor of Arts in Economics (BE)

Requirements:

 KCSE Mean grade C+ and at least C in English and Maths OR
 Two principal passes at ‘A’ level, OR
 Have a diploma in related field from a recognized Institution

3) Bachelor of Hotel and Hospitality Management (BHH)

Requirements:

 Mean grade of C + (Plus) at KCSE OR Two Principal passes and the subsidiary pass at
KACE – ‘A’ Level OR
 Diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution OR
 Higher National diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution.

4) Bachelor of Science in Communication and Public Relations

Requirements:

 K.C.S.E Mean grade of C+, with at least a C + in English, a C+ in Kiswahili and a C- in
Mathematics OR
 Diploma qualifications in Public Relations, Human Resource Development, Education,
and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit)

Diploma Programmes

1. Diploma in Business Management
2. Diploma in Economics
3. Diploma in Tourism Management
4. Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management

Short Term (professional Courses)

1. Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD)
2. Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
3. Certified Information Communication Technology (CICT)
